I Love My Vacuum

I did it, again. I bought a new vacuum and I think I’m a little in love with this thing! First let me say that I will not pay $500 for a vacuum, I don’t care how well it works, I can’t justify spending that much on a vacuum. My wedding rings didn’t cost that much. I’m not cheap, I’m frugal. I did some research on the internet and of course the name Dyson was everywhere, but even more surprising, so was Hoover, at about a fifth of the price. The reviews were good so I went to Kohl’s. The … Continue reading

The Vacuum- My Nemesis

I may have mentioned a time or two that I really dislike vacuuming. I don’t know what it is but to me it’s the most pointless thing I do in my home. I know it ‘s not, I know vacuuming keeps the carpet clean and extends it’s life, but I don’t like it. Believe it or not I actually scrub my kitchen floor more often than I vacuum, and I do it on my hands and knees. There is no logic to my likes and dislikes. I kept telling myself it was the vacuum I disliked and not the actual … Continue reading

Cleaning The Things That Clean

Most of the time I don’t think about the things I use to clean my house. They are always there, ready when I need them. Things like the washer, dryer and vacuum, I don’t give them much thought, until they don’t work. A little maintenance goes a long way towards keeping things running well, and this is especially true for your vacuum. Just think about all the dirt your vacuum collects in a typical month and you will understand the need for a cleaning. At least twice a year you should completely take your vacuum apart and clean it. Pay … Continue reading

I Love To Weed, I May Need Professional Help

Sometimes people write blogs that inspire you to think about things. Recently Stephanie Romero wrote about Chores That Relax You. I could relate with the fact that she doesn’t find painting relaxing. I don’t either. I get all excited to paint but by the time I’m finished wrestling with all that blue paint, I’m done. It drives me crazy and no matter how careful I am I get paint on the ceiling, trim and carpet. Not relaxing at all. For me, it’s weeding. Although you couldn’t tell it by the state of my flower beds right now, weeding relaxes me. … Continue reading

It’s A Never Ending Job

Walking in the door from work today I was sorting the mail, junk, bills, recycling, Kohl’s coupons. I let the dog out and emptied my lunch bag, trash in the trash can, dishes in the sink to wash later. I ran upstairs to use the restroom (over sharing, I know) while in there I noticed the toilet paper roll holder needed dusting, so I dusted it. I washed my hands and wiped the sink off, grabbed the towels from yesterday and threw them in the laundry. As I moved through the house doing all the things I do when I … Continue reading
